At this point in the offseason, with mini-camp complete, those who’ve followed Joe Philbin’s practices have almost become immune to how different things are. What once was eye-opening–the pace of practice, coaching style, coaching schemes–has gradually become the norm. If you take a step back, though, it’s quite clear that the team is preparing differently.

NFL Network analyst Solomon Wilcots, who visited the Dolphins training facility during last week’s mini-camp, joined The Finsiders to give an outsider’s perspective on what’s different under Philbin.

It’s certainly difficult to gauge what’s happening during the first handful of practices of the offseason. But if anything has been evident so far, it’s that new defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle coaches with a palpable energy. To the untrained eye, he always stands out.

NFL Network’s Solomon Wilcots joined The Finsiders and praised the addition of Coyle to Joe Philbin’s coaching staff.
