The talented cornerback spoke to reporters this morning and expressed his confidence in the abilities of himself and Sean Smith. Vontae and Sean are each looking to take their game to the next level as they enter their 3rd year in the league. Vontae also is asked about the comparisons that himself and Smith are starting to draw with former Dolphins corners Sam Madison and Pat Surtain.

Chuck Fusca (Facebook): Was there ever a rift between the offensive and defensive players during your era because you felt like they weren’t keeping up with you guys on defense?

Sam Madison: Well, there could have been, but just the way that our defense was built and the type of players that we had, we thought as a unit, that we could beat anybody.

Sam Madison: That’s a good question, George. With all of the firepower that the Dolphins brought in on offense, you have to figure and hope that it will give the defense an opportunity to rest up a little bit more between possessions.
