The Pittsburgh Steelers seem to hold true to a defensive philosophy that involves a stout defensive line that holds their ground, while they plug in big, quick, powerful linebackers on the outside. 

Pittsburgh has been known for impressive defenses back to their “Steel Curtain” days with Mean Joe Greene, L.C. Greenwood, Ernie Holmes, and Dwight White up front, Jack Lambert at linebacker, and cornerback Mel Blount patrolling the back end.
