The road has been a friendly place so far for the Dolphins, having won on all three of their previous trips away from Miami. It began with an opening week win at Buffalo, followed by a victory against Brett Favre and the Vikings in Minnesota, and was followed with an overtime win at Green Bay.
It has been a bit of a bumpy ride to this point for the Dolphins on special teams. The inconsistent play has resulted in some players looking elsewhere for employment, a coaching change, and some new faces being brought in to help solidify the unit.
But, last week at Green Bay special teams definitely improved. There was one miscue on a punt, but for the most part field position was improved offensively, and limited on defense.
The special teams unit will need to come out strong against the Packers as they try and help the Dolphins offense with better drive starts and pin Green Bay’s deep within their own territory.
One player that may help in the return game is rookie Nolan Carroll.
