As a player Bryan Cox may have talked the talk but he definitely walked the walk. The first thing many remember about the former Dolphins linebacker is a particular gesture that he made to Bills fans in 1993. However, what many fail to remember is that after firing his team up for that big game, on the second play from scrimmage Cox threw aside two blockers and sacked Jim Kelly setting the tone for a dominant defensive performance and a 22-13 Dolphins win in Orchard Park, N.Y.

As most everyone probably knows by now, the Dolphins have a bit of a different Friday this week, as the team left early this morning for New Jersey. Head coach Tony Sparano and owner Steve Ross will take the team to see the Broadway play “Lombardi” tonight, but before that, a practice at the Giants’ training facility. Before practice, Sparano met with the media for the final time before Sunday’s game against the Jets.

For the final time before Sunday’s game against the Ravens, Dolphins coach Tony Sparano met with the media to discuss the battle in Baltimore. It was, to be honest, one of the more entertaining press conferences of the season and featured some very interesting conversation, including an anecdote about Bill Parcells hitting Sparano with a gameplan in Dallas and telling him to cover his mouth while calling plays.

The Dolphins were back at practice today as they get set for Sunday’s showdown with the Steelers at Sun Life Stadium. After practice, head coach Tony Sparano met with the media to discuss the game. With FB Lousaka Polite missing practice today with a leg injury, Sparano spoke about newcomer Deon Anderson, who is not only a special teams standout, but a good blocker who can contribute to the offense.

Of course one of the biggest challenges facing his team this week will be Brett Favre. Not only is the veteran QB capable of fitting passes into tight spaces, but he’s not afraid to take chances.

Wednesdays are fun days at the podium, as both coach Tony Sparano and starting quarterback Chad Henne take some time to chat with the media. With so much conversation about the team needing to get off to a quick start, Henne agreed that it was very important and that “all these games mean something.” He added that he knows there are major playoff implications, even in the early going.
