Classic “Mad Dog” Radio Calls
By on November 28, 2011 at 1:58 pm

From the Fake Spike Play to the unveiling of the Wildcat Offense with many touchdowns in between, Jim “Mad Dog” Mandich brought a fan’s die-hard passion to the Dolphins broadcast booth for nearly 20 years. As the Dolphins prepare to induct Mandich into the team’s honor roll this Sunday, listen to some of his brilliant and enthusiastic radio calls over the past several decades.

The Rex Ryan Castor Oil is my second favorite.
I wish you would have included the Ted Ginn TD when the Mad Dog said,
    “Let me reinsert my eyeballs!”
I literally fell on the floor and rolled around laughing!
It was so timely, due to Ginn’s previous ineptitude.

If I may rephrase something Mad Dog once said about Dan Marino….
What a joy it has been to listen to that man on the radio!

Thank you. What a great Dolphin – on & off the field. These radio clips are so exciting! My favorite is the Fiedler one because it’s like out of nowhere Jim got so excited! His enthusiasm was so contagious! I smiled and laughed as I listened to these (again), and even teared up. I’m sure I’ll cry like a girl (LOL!) at the game when he is inducted into the Honor Roll, where he so rightly belongs. I am so happy I can be there for this experience. I am proud to be Dolphins fan.
