Wake Predicted To Lead League In Sacks By MMQB’s Peter King
By on September 2, 2014 at 6:00 pm

090214-wakeWhen’s Peter King arrived in Davie as part of his training camp tour about a month ago, there was one player specifically on the Dolphins roster that he couldn’t have better things to say about than All-Pro defensive end Cameron Wake.

“Cameron Wake to me is one of my three favorite pass rushers in the league,” said King. “The thing I love about him, and I told him this. I said the thing I really like you is that you have a true appreciation of your life, of he fact that you almost didn’t have this life, and eight years ago you were working out in a gym just praying that somebody would give you a chance. And he made something of himself. That’s why it’s really, really easy to root for Cam Wake.”

With the Dolphins defensive line as a whole likely to garner some national attention, King continued to highlight Wake and his tenacious pass rushing ability specifically today in The MMQB’s 2014 NFL Season Preview, as he predicted that the three time Pro Bowler would lead the NFL in sacks this upcoming season.

Through five seasons in the league, Wake has totaled 51.5 sacks and has eclipsed 14 or more sacks twice in his career. He recorded 8.5 sacks in 2013 and was named to the Pro Bowl last season.
