What They’re Saying: Fins On The Bengals
By on October 31, 2013 at 11:31 am

Tannehill ThomasTonight the Miami Dolphins will square off with the Cincinnati Bengals for a Halloween showdown. Though it’s a short week, the Dolphins have been plenty busy as they aim to end their current four game losing streak. See what has been said around the organization in this week’s edition of what they’re saying.

Coach Philbin

On the Bengals’ offense: “I think [Andy Dalton] has done a really nice job of distributing the ball. They have A.J. Green—certainly an outstanding player, has good statistics. There are also other players that are getting the ball—Marvin Jones, Mohamed Sanu, Jermaine Greshem, Tyler Eifert, Giovani Bernard—they’re really getting the ball around to different guys, which presents a challenge to us from a defensive perspective.”

On the Bengals’ defense: “They like to walk a lot of guys up on the line of scrimmage on third down and present what we call ‘targeting concerns’, at least from an offensive point of view. And they had two negative plays on the first two third downs of the game.”

Ryan Tannehill

On the Bengals’ pass rush: “They’re good. They’re a good front seven, really. They have good players all across their defense — two Pro Bowl defensive tackles, two long, athletic defensive ends and Pro Bowl  linebackers as well, so definitely a good front seven.”

Cam Wake

On the Bengals’ offensive attack: “They’re a team who has a lot of weapons. You have a quarterback who’s doing very well, getting the ball to his guys and making plays. They’re running the ball decently and it’s another situation where you have to be on top of your game.”

On wide receiver Marvin Jones: “Any given Sunday, anything can happen. You have guys who step up and make plays that you may or may not have heard about, and obviously he’s got the hot hand right now.”

Mike Pouncey

On the Bengals’ defense: “They’ve got a really good defense, they’re very active. Their front four is going to be the best we’ve faced all year, so we’ve got to go out, we’ve got to play a complete football game.”

Bryant McKinnie

On the Bengals: “It’s a team I’m familiar with coming from [Baltimore]. Good defense, they’ve got some good pass rushers and we’ve just got to execute.”

Richie Incognito

On defensive tackle Geno Atkins: “Geno, he’s a guy who can really ruin things for you. He’s talented, he’s a smart player—he’s got all of the tools. He’s athletic, he’s fast, he’s strong and he can ruin the game for you at three-technique. He’s one of those Warren Sapp-type guys who can take over a game.”
