Mike Pouncey’s brother, Maurkice, the Steelers center, played with Wallace for three seasons in Pittsburgh, seeing the receiver’s 4.3 speed up close.
After he signed, each Pouncey reacted to Wallace’s move south to Miami.
“I think the addition of Mike Wallace to the Miami Dolphins is great,” Mike said. “He’s a great teammate from what I heard, he’s a great football from what we can all see. I think he’s going to get us to where we want to be and that’s in the playoffs.”
What was surely a much-anticipated game for the brothers when focus shifted to the 2013 schedule, now has a little extra flavor.
“It’s an awesome pick for them,” Maurkice said. “I’ve been with Mike (for) a couple of years now. The things that he brings to that offense, the things that he can do on the field and off the field, being a teammate, is great. I wish we still had him as a Pittsburgh Steeler, but, hey, we get to play them this year and hopefully he’ll get to go home and not play as good against us.”
