Ryan Tannehill Studies Playoff QBs
By on February 6, 2013 at 11:10 am

tanny cincyOn Wednesday morning, Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill checked in with The Finsiders to talk  about his first NFL offseason.

After the regular season ended, the 2012 first-round pick became a fan, watching the NFL playoffs closely, especially last Sunday’s Super Bowl.

“I kind of used the Super Bowl the other day to see what we want to get to here in Miami – the celebration after the game, just the excitement that’s going to be in the air there in Baltimore, just the feeling to have that here in Miami would be huge for us.”

Tannehill said that he watched the AFC playoffs to become familiar with the teams that are consistently there. What separated the good teams from the great, he said, wasn’t radically different from what he saw during his first regular season.

“Guys that are out there are making plays. I think that’s what it comes down to,” Tannehill said. “You saw the Ravens, when it came down to it in crunch time, they were able to, as a team, make the plays that they needed to make to get first downs and move the ball and eventually win the game.”

Tannehill had a few chances to get a taste of what crunch time is like in 2012, notably leading a Week 12 fourth quarter comeback against the Seattle Seahawks at Sun Life Stadium.

To hear about Tannehill’s offseason schedule and what the quarterback wants to work on heading into 2013, watch his interview with The Finsiders here.
