REPORT: John Abraham Visiting With Dolphins (UPDATED)
By on March 15, 2013 at 10:28 am

abrahamEven as the Dolphins have reworked their linebacker corps this week, there is seemingly still a desire to acquire more defensive pressure players via free agency, as the team is reportedly hosting Falcons defensive end John Abraham.

With Michael Bennett opting to sign in Seattle, Abraham, a 13-year veteran, is visiting the Dolphins, the Sun-Sentinel’s Chris Perkins reports.

Abraham, 34, was one of the New York Jets’ four first-round picks in the 2000 draft — along with former Dolphins QB Chad Pennington — and spent six seasons in New York before moving to Atlanta. He was an All-Pro selection three times (2001, 2008, 2010), recording 122 sacks and forcing 42 fumbles in his career. Still an effective pass rusher, Abraham had another double-digit sack season in 2012, finishing with 10.

UPDATE: The Palm Beach Post’s Ben Volin reports that Abraham did NOT visit with the Dolphins.
