Hartline Working Dream Job This Offseason
By on March 20, 2013 at 11:55 am

Hartline StoreRight after he signed his new contract, Brian Hartline went home to Ohio to get back to work.

No, he wasn’t running routes and participating in pass-catching drills just yet. He had to make it to his “dream job” first, working at a drive-thru convenience store that he co-owns with a high school friend.

The two have wanted to get into business together since they were young, Hartline explained in a recent interview with Fox and Friends, so the Dolphins receiver jumped at the opportunity to buy the store this offseason.

Hartline, though, isn’t a hands-off owner who pops into the store once in a while. In fact, he said that, at times, he feels more like a regular employee than an owner, working the occasional 12-hour shift in the cold Ohio winter.

“The best part about it is really being able to deal with the everyday customers,” Hartline said. “We have a lot of regulars; we have new people that come in. Getting noticed in there a lot is a lot of fun, talking to football fans.

“Sometimes it’s even incognito. I’ll ask them what they think about Fins or the Browns, because we’re in Ohio. Kind of get a feel for different fans. It’s a lot of fun.”
