At the recent NFL Annual Meeting in Palm Beach, one of the main storylines to emerge was Dolphins owner Steve Ross’s renewed commitment to being as open, honest and transparent with fans as possible. He spoke to The Finsiders about his desire to keep the lines of communication more two-way than ever before:
“Today we live in a different world…Today, the fans want to be more engaged…we have to really open up and bring the fans inside. You read too many articles where ‘sources say’…and I think it’s better that the fans know what’s going on first-hand and that they hear it from us.”
Yesterday, the level of communication was once again raised, as team CEO Mike Dee opened a Twitter account that will enable fans to communicate directly with the man who runs the day-to-day operations on the business side of the Dolphins.
People are certainly taking notice, as well. Dee went over 2,000 followers on Twitter less than 24 hours after his first post and Izzy Gould of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel wrote that “The move appears to be another in a growing list of attempts by the Dolphins to better communicate with fans, and media regarding team operations.”
Fans can communicate with the team online in several ways:
