Roster Moves 9/4/10
By on September 4, 2010 at 6:49 pm

Today the Miami Dolphins announced that they have terminated the contract of two players, waived 18 others, and acquired versatile offensive lineman Pat McQuistan from the Cowboys for an undisclosed draft pick.

There are some definite surprises here, starting with the fact that TE David Martin, re-signed midway through training camp, has had his contract terminated. The team can, of course, bring him back early in the regular season, which could change the amount of guaranteed money that he is owed.

The team also announced that 2009 draftees Pat White (second round) and Patrick Turner (third round) have been waived. White never really showed anything in his time with the Dolphins and while Turner has shown glimpses and has the size to compete at wide receiver, he was clearly outplayed during camp and the pre-season by rookie undrafted free agents Marlon Moore and Roberto Wallace.

The Fins, of course, could still make some roster moves, as they look over the waiver wire and see if there are any players who have been let go by other teams that they have interest in.

The following is a full list of today’s transactions, as announced by the team:
