Dolphins coach Tony Sparano had a very brief chat with the media after practice today as he continues to get his team ready for Sunday’s game against the Browns. Today, Cleveland coach Eric Mangini officially announced that Jake Delhomme would be his starting quarterback, which didn’t seem to surprise Sparano, who said that was the main guy they were preparing for this week. As for injuries, CB Al Harris, who hurt a hamstring yesterday, was not at practice and DL Phillip Merling, recently re-activated to the 53-man roster, may or may not be available for the game. Sparano said he would make a decision on that tomorrow night.
As for the Dolphins’ QB situation, when asked who the #3 quarterback would be on Sunday, Sparano joked that “You’re looking at him.” While he didn’t get into any details, Sparano certainly seemed to hint that Ronnie Brown (and therefore the Wildcat) would be in the mix there.
