In his final chat with the media before Sunday’s game at Oakland, Dolphins coach Tony Sparano was asked about several injured players. WR Brandon Marshall was once again not at practice today, and Sparano said he has made a decision on whether or not he will travel with the team this afternoon as they head to the west coast. Meanwhile, QB Chad Pennington, who is on injured reserve, will not travel, which isn’t a huge surprise, but is nonetheless noteworthy because of his “coaching” abilities on the sideline.

Sparano was very complimentary of his team’s approach on the road this season, saying that they all know these trips are for business and not pleasure (no side trips to Alcatraz, he said). Nonetheless, the team will have curfews both tonight and tomorrow night.

Sparano also announced that the team made a roster move today, waiving DL Clifton Geathers and bringing up DT Chris Baker from the practice squad.

UPDATE: Here is some video of the coach talking about WRs Roberto Wallace and Marlon Moore, both of whom could see more playing time this week thanks to the Marshall injury, as well as the different kind of attention that LB Cameron Wake is receiving this season:

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the Fins win Sunday. Adversity is a great motivator for a team to come together and play great. The coach hasn’t been great at that this year and needs to get it together now!
