For the final time before Sunday’s game against the Titans, Dolphins coach Tony Sparano met with the media and spoke about several key issues that will be facing the team on Sunday, including Round 2 between Vontae Davis and Randy Moss. Sparano said that he expects that the Titans will line Moss up in some different places on the field, something that New England did not do in their Monday night meeting with the Fins.
As for the uncertainty at QB for Tennessee, Sparano said that the Titans run pretty much the same offense whether Vince Young or Kerry Collins is in, but that the team obviously has to prepare for Young’s mobility and ability outside the pocket.
With Anthony Fasano nursing a chest injury, Sparano said that the two young tight ends, Jeron Mastrud and Mickey Shuler have both taken a bunch of reps this week, but that Fasano has also worked himself back into the fold as the week went on.
Meanwhile, the newest Dolphin, CB Al Harris, has been practicing all week but Sparano was not yet ready to announce whether or not he would be playing. On the other side of the ball, Sparano said that part of what makes the Tennessee defense so good is that they are able to get as much pressure on the QB as they are without bringing a ton of guys on a blitz.
UPDATE: Here are video highlights to see the coach talking about the importance of this game as well as how he expects his defense to bounce back after their poor tackling performance against the Ravens:
